Description
Same active ingredient (sildenafil) as Viagra®, the US brand. Filagra Oral Jelly is an Indian brand, made and licensed in India.
About Filagra Oral Jelly
Filagra Oral Jelly is a prescription oral gel containing sildenafil citrate, usually 100 mg in each 5 g sachet, made by Fortune Healthcare, used to treat erectile dysfunction. It delivers the same medicine as a sildenafil tablet in a flavored, easy-to-swallow jelly. Filagra is an Indian brand and is not licensed in the UK, EU or US.
Why choose a jelly?
Some men find tablets hard to swallow, dislike the taste of a coated pill, or simply prefer something that can be taken without water. The jelly form solves those problems. It is not a different drug and it is not stronger: one full sachet contains a standard 100 mg dose.
How does sildenafil work?
During arousal the penis releases a chemical signal (cGMP) that relaxes its blood vessels so they can fill with blood. The enzyme PDE5 switches that signal off. Sildenafil temporarily blocks PDE5, helping the erection to form and last. Sexual stimulation remains essential.
How to take Filagra Oral Jelly
- Tear open one sachet around 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity.
- Squeeze the whole contents onto your tongue or a teaspoon and swallow. Water is optional.
- Use only one sachet in any 24 hours, and do not add a tablet, chewable or another jelly on the same day.
- Avoid a heavy, fatty meal just beforehand, which can slow the effect.
Because each sachet holds 100 mg, the top labeled dose, men new to sildenafil are usually advised to start with a 50 mg tablet instead. Dividing a sachet by eye does not give a reliable half dose.
Does a jelly act faster than a tablet?
Sellers often say so, and some men feel it works a little sooner, but there is little good evidence of a meaningful difference. Expect an onset of roughly 30 to 60 minutes and an effect lasting around four to five hours.
Pack sizes
Supplied in boxes of seven 5 g sachets. Packs range from 35 to 300 sachets, starting from $47.
Possible side effects
Headache, facial redness, indigestion, a runny or blocked nose and dizziness are common. Some men notice a blue or blurred tinge to their vision for a few hours. Get emergency help for a painful erection lasting over four hours, chest pain, fainting, or sudden loss of sight or hearing.
Who should not use it?
- Men taking nitrate medicines or poppers, or riociguat.
- Men with serious heart problems, very low blood pressure, severe liver disease, or a recent heart attack or stroke.
- Men with diabetes should check the sugar content on the pack, since flavored jellies are sweetened.
Tell your doctor about alpha-blockers, HIV medicines, antifungals and antibiotics such as erythromycin before use.
Storage
Keep sachets sealed at room temperature and away from direct heat. Jelly sachets look like sweets, so store them well away from children.
Frequently asked questions
Can I save half a sachet for later?
No. Once opened, the jelly should be used straight away and any remainder discarded.
How is it different from Kamagra Oral Jelly?
Both contain 100 mg sildenafil per sachet; Kamagra Oral Jelly is made by a different manufacturer.
