Description
Same active ingredient (sildenafil) as Viagra®, the US brand. Silditop Soft 100 mg is an Indian brand, made and licensed in India.
About Silditop Soft 100 mg
Silditop Soft 100 mg is a prescription soft chewable tablet containing 100 mg of sildenafil citrate, made by Healing Pharma in India, used to treat erectile dysfunction in adult men. It is a flavored, easy-to-chew alternative to swallowing a conventional tablet, and it contains the maximum labeled single dose.
Silditop is not licensed in the UK, EU or US. Before using it, talk to a doctor or pharmacist, particularly if you have a heart condition or take regular medicines.
Why see a doctor about ED?
Erection problems are common and often have a physical cause. Narrowed blood vessels, diabetes, high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, low testosterone, smoking and some medicines can all play a part, and ED sometimes appears years before heart disease is diagnosed. A check-up including blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol is worthwhile before relying on tablets.
How does Silditop Soft work?
Sildenafil is a PDE5 inhibitor. It amplifies the body’s own response to sexual arousal by keeping the arteries of the penis relaxed for longer, so the erectile tissue can fill with blood. Arousal is needed for it to work, and it does not alter sexual desire.
How to take it
- Chew one tablet thoroughly, or let it soften on the tongue, and swallow it 30–60 minutes before sex.
- One tablet a day is the maximum, and it should never be doubled up with regular Silditop tablets or any other sildenafil form.
- A fatty meal slows the onset; alcohol can reduce the effect and worsen dizziness.
- If you have never used sildenafil, ask about a lower strength first.
What to expect
Sildenafil helps most men with ED, but results vary, and men with diabetes or those recovering from prostate surgery may respond less well. It usually takes several tries at the right dose, on different days, to judge the response fairly. If it still does not help, your doctor can look again at the cause or suggest a different treatment rather than a higher dose.
What are the side effects?
Headache, flushing, indigestion, nasal congestion and dizziness are the most reported. Vision may take on a bluish tinge for a short time. Get urgent medical attention for an erection lasting four hours or more, sudden loss of sight, sudden hearing loss or ringing in the ears with dizziness, chest pain, or swelling of the lips and throat.
Who should not take it?
- Anyone taking nitrates or nicorandil for angina, or using poppers.
- Men on riociguat.
- Men with severe heart or liver disease, a recent stroke or heart attack, or blood pressure below 90/50.
- Those with retinitis pigmentosa or previous NAION.
Alpha-blockers, ritonavir and other HIV medicines, clarithromycin, erythromycin and azole antifungals can interact, and grapefruit juice may raise levels. Women and teenagers should not take it.
