About Malegra Gold 100 mg
Malegra Gold 100 mg is a prescription tablet containing 100 mg of sildenafil citrate, made by Sunrise Remedies, used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. “Gold” is a brand variant: the active ingredient and strength are the same as in standard Malegra 100 mg, so each tablet should be treated as a full, maximum-strength dose of sildenafil. The Malegra range comes from India and is not licensed by UK, EU or US regulators.
How does Malegra Gold work?
Arousal releases nitric oxide in the penis, which raises levels of a chemical messenger called cGMP. cGMP relaxes the muscle in the blood vessel walls so the erectile tissue can fill. Sildenafil stops the PDE5 enzyme from clearing cGMP too quickly, which strengthens and prolongs this natural response. Without sexual stimulation nothing happens, and the medicine has no effect on desire or fertility and gives no protection against sexually transmitted infections.
How to take Malegra Gold 100 mg
| Dose | One tablet, only when a prescriber has confirmed 100 mg suits you |
|---|---|
| When | About 1 hour before sex (usable window 30 minutes to 4 hours) |
| Food | Acts fastest after a light meal or on an empty stomach |
| Maximum | Once in 24 hours; never more than 100 mg a day |
| Duration | Roughly 4–5 hours |
Swallow the tablet whole with water. Most men are started on 50 mg, so if you have never used sildenafil, ask whether Malegra 50 mg would be a safer first step.
What to expect after a dose
- First 30 minutes: the tablet is being absorbed; some men feel warmth in the face.
- 30–60 minutes: arousal leads to an erection more readily than usual.
- Up to 4–5 hours: the effect fades gradually, and an erection subsides normally after ejaculation.
If it fails the first time, nerves, alcohol or a large meal may be responsible. Several attempts on separate days are reasonable before judging the result.
Who should not take it?
Do not use Malegra Gold with any nitrate medicine (GTN, isosorbide mononitrate or dinitrate, nicorandil), with recreational nitrites known as poppers, or with riociguat for pulmonary hypertension. It is not suitable for men with severe heart or liver disease, low blood pressure, a stroke or heart attack within the last six months, or an inherited retinal disorder. Alpha-blockers for blood pressure or prostate symptoms, and strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ritonavir, ketoconazole or clarithromycin, need a doctor’s review and usually a lower dose. Never add other ED tablets, oral jelly or chewables on the same day.
What are the side effects?
Common effects include headache, facial flushing, heartburn, nasal stuffiness, dizziness and brief color changes in vision. Muscle aches and back pain happen occasionally. Seek emergency care for an erection that persists beyond 4 hours, a sudden drop in vision or hearing, or chest pain, breathlessness or fainting during or after sex.
Pack sizes
Malegra Gold is packed in strips of 4 tablets and sold in packs of 90, 120, 150 or 300, from $76. Store it in the original strip below 86°F (30°C), away from moisture.
