Description
Same active ingredient (sildenafil) as Viagra®, the US brand. Zeagra 100 mg is an Indian brand, made and licensed in India.
About Zeagra 100 mg
Zeagra 100 mg is a prescription tablet containing 100 mg of sildenafil citrate, made by Zee Laboratories in India, used to treat erectile dysfunction in men. It provides the maximum labeled single dose of sildenafil and is usually considered only after a lower dose has been tried.
Zeagra is not a licensed brand in the UK, EU or US. The same active ingredient is available on prescription in those countries under other names, so discuss it with a doctor or pharmacist before use.
How does Zeagra work?
When a man is aroused, the penis releases nitric oxide, which switches on production of cGMP, the signal that opens up its blood vessels. The sildenafil in Zeagra protects that signal from being broken down by the PDE5 enzyme, making it easier to get and keep an erection firm enough for sex. Once arousal passes, the erection fades as usual.
Before you start: a health check
Sex puts some extra strain on the heart. If you get chest pain or breathlessness with moderate exertion, such as climbing a couple of flights of stairs, see a doctor before using any ED medicine. It is also worth having your blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol checked, because ED can be an early warning sign of vascular disease.
How to take Zeagra 100 mg
- Swallow one tablet whole with water about one hour before sex.
- Expect it to work for about four hours, and only with sexual stimulation.
- Take it on an empty stomach or after a light meal for a quicker response.
- Do not use it more than once a day, or on the same day as a chewable, jelly or soft sildenafil product.
If you are over 65, have liver or serious kidney problems, or take interacting medicines, your doctor will usually recommend 25 mg or 50 mg instead.
What are the side effects?
- Very common: headache.
- Common: flushing, dizziness, indigestion, nasal congestion, nausea and altered color vision.
- Less common: palpitations, muscle pain, dry or sore eyes and nosebleeds.
Stop taking it and get emergency help for an erection that lasts longer than four hours, sudden reduced or lost vision, sudden deafness, chest pain, irregular heartbeat or a severe allergic reaction.
Who should not take Zeagra?
Do not use it if you take a nitrate or nitric oxide donor for angina (GTN, isosorbide mononitrate or dinitrate, nicorandil), inhale amyl nitrite, or take riociguat. It is also unsuitable if you have had a heart attack or stroke in the last six months, have low blood pressure, severe liver disease or a hereditary retinal disease, or have lost sight in an eye from NAION. Men on alpha-blockers, HIV medicines, azole antifungals or macrolide antibiotics need their prescriber to adjust the dose. It is not for women or under-18s.
