Tastylia 10 mg is a prescription oral film (strip) containing 10 mg of tadalafil, made by Healing Pharma in India, used to treat erectile dysfunction. Each thin strip dissolves on the tongue, so it can be taken without water, which some men find more discreet or easier than swallowing a tablet. Tastylia is an Indian brand and is not licensed by the FDA or by UK or EU regulators.

How is a film different from a tablet?

The film holds the same drug as a tadalafil tablet, just in a different carrier. It softens and dissolves in the mouth within a minute or two, and most of the tadalafil is then swallowed with saliva and absorbed from the gut. There is no good evidence that films act faster or more strongly than tablets, so allow the same 30 minutes to 2 hours before sex. Once working, the effect can last up to 36 hours.

5. Use no more than one strip in 24 hours, and never on the same day as a tablet, jelly or other ED medicine of this class.

If 10 mg is not enough, your doctor may move you to a 20 mg dose; if side effects are a problem, 5 mg may be considered.

Who should not use it?

Do not use Tastylia with nitrate medicines (nitroglycerin, isosorbide mononitrate or dinitrate), amyl nitrite “poppers” or riociguat. Avoid it if you have been told sex is unsafe for your heart, if you recently had a heart attack or stroke, or if you have low or uncontrolled blood pressure or severe liver disease. Kidney disease needs a doctor’s dose plan. It is not for women or anyone under 18. Mention alpha-blockers, blood pressure tablets, antifungals such as ketoconazole, HIV medicines such as ritonavir, and antibiotics such as clarithromycin, since several of these raise tadalafil levels. Films may contain sweeteners and flavorings, so check the ingredient list if you have allergies.

Side effects match those of tadalafil tablets: headache, indigestion, flushing, a blocked nose, back pain and aching muscles. A strange taste or mild mouth irritation can occur with dissolving films.
