Description
Same active ingredient (sildenafil) as Viagra®, the US brand. Bluemen 100 mg is an Indian brand, made and licensed in India.
About Bluemen 100 mg
Bluemen 100 mg is a prescription tablet containing sildenafil citrate 100 mg, made by RSM Enterprises, used to treat erectile dysfunction when a lower dose has not been effective enough. It is an Indian generic that is not licensed in the UK, EU or US, where the same ingredient is sold as Viagra and approved generics.
When is 100 mg appropriate?
One hundred milligrams is the maximum labeled dose of sildenafil for ED. It is meant for men who have already tried 50 mg, had a partial response, and tolerated it well. It is not a sensible starting point: side effects such as headache, flushing and visual changes become more frequent as the dose rises, while the extra benefit over 50 mg varies from man to man. Taking more than 100 mg does not reliably improve erections and only adds to the risks. If you have never used sildenafil, ask about Bluemen 50 mg first.
How does it work?
Sildenafil is a PDE5 inhibitor. By blocking this enzyme it preserves cGMP, the chemical that keeps penile blood vessels open during arousal, so more blood flows in and stays there. Desire and physical stimulation are still needed.
How to take Bluemen 100 mg
- Take one tablet with water roughly 60 minutes before sex. It can be used from 30 minutes up to 4 hours ahead.
- Eat lightly beforehand, since a rich meal slows absorption.
- Allow at least 24 hours between doses.
- Keep alcohol modest, because drinking plus a high dose increases the chance of dizziness.
How long does it take to work?
Most men notice the effect within 30 to 60 minutes, and it remains useful for about four to five hours. The tablet does not produce an erection that lasts for hours on its own; it helps an erection happen when you are aroused during that window.
Pack sizes
Bluemen 100 mg is supplied in strips of 10 and sold in packs of 90, 120, 150 and 300 tablets, from $85.
Side effects at the higher dose
Headache, facial flushing, heartburn, nasal congestion and dizziness are the effects most men report, and they are more likely at 100 mg. Temporary blue-tinged or blurred vision, back pain and muscle aches can also occur. If they bother you, your doctor can step the dose back down to 50 mg. Stop and get help immediately for an erection lasting over four hours, chest pain, a sudden drop in vision or hearing, or signs of an allergic reaction.
Who should avoid Bluemen 100 mg?
- Men taking any nitrate, using poppers, or on riociguat for pulmonary hypertension.
- Men with unstable heart disease, uncontrolled high or very low blood pressure, or a recent heart attack or stroke.
- Men over 65, or with liver or severe kidney problems, unless a doctor has confirmed the dose; lower strengths are usually preferred.
- Men on alpha-blockers or medicines such as ritonavir, ketoconazole or clarithromycin, which raise sildenafil levels.
Storage
Keep in the original strip, below 86°F (30°C) and away from moisture, where children cannot find it.
Frequently asked questions
Is Bluemen 100 mg stronger than other 100 mg sildenafil brands?
No. Every 100 mg sildenafil tablet contains the same amount of the same drug; brands differ in appearance, packaging and price.
Can I cut the tablet in half?
Splitting gives an uneven dose. A genuine lower-strength tablet is more accurate if your doctor lowers the dose.
Is tadalafil an alternative?
It can be. Read our sildenafil and tadalafil comparison or browse the full sildenafil category.
For general information only. Bluemen 100 mg is a prescription medicine, and a doctor should confirm the higher dose is right for you before use.
