Description
Same active ingredient (sildenafil) as Viagra®, the US brand. Sildigra 50 mg is an Indian brand, made and licensed in India.
About Sildigra 50 mg
Sildigra 50 mg is a prescription tablet containing 50 mg of sildenafil citrate, supplied by Dharam Distributors, used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. Fifty milligrams is the usual starting strength for sildenafil, so this is the tablet many prescribers begin with before deciding whether a man needs more or less.
Sildigra is an Indian generic brand. It is not licensed in the UK, the EU or the US, where sildenafil is prescribed under other names, so ask a doctor or pharmacist whether it is right for you.
How does Sildigra 50 mg work?
During arousal, nerves in the penis release nitric oxide, which raises a chemical messenger called cGMP. That messenger relaxes the smooth muscle in the blood vessels, letting blood flow in so an erection forms. Sildenafil blocks PDE5, the enzyme that breaks cGMP down, so the signal lasts longer. Without sexual stimulation it has no effect, and it does not increase desire.
How to take Sildigra 50 mg
- Swallow one tablet with water roughly an hour before sex. It can start working after about 30 minutes and remains useful for around four hours.
- Stick to one tablet per 24-hour period at most.
- A large or fatty meal can hold back the effect by up to an hour, so a light meal suits most men.
- Try it on several separate occasions before judging whether it helps.
Is 50 mg the right strength?
Labeled dosing runs from 25 mg up to a ceiling of 100 mg once a day. A prescriber may drop to 25 mg for men over 65, men with liver problems or severe kidney disease, and those on certain interacting medicines. If 50 mg is well tolerated but not strong enough, the next step is Sildigra 100 mg, and the dose is never pushed above that.
What are the side effects?
Most are mild and fade as the drug wears off: headache, facial flushing, indigestion, a blocked nose and dizziness. Some men notice a blue tinge to their vision, blurring or sensitivity to light. Get urgent medical help if an erection lasts more than four hours, if you suddenly lose sight in one or both eyes, if your hearing drops suddenly, or if you develop chest pain during sex.
Who should not take it?
- Men using any nitrate for angina, such as nitroglycerin (glyceryl trinitrate) (GTN) spray or isosorbide mononitrate, or recreational “poppers”: together they can cause a dangerous fall in blood pressure.
- Anyone taking riociguat for pulmonary hypertension.
- Men who have had a stroke or heart attack in the last six months, or who have been told to avoid sexual activity for heart reasons.
- Men with very low blood pressure, severe liver disease, an inherited retinal condition such as retinitis pigmentosa, or past vision loss from NAION.
Take extra care with alpha-blockers such as doxazosin or tamsulosin: you should be on a steady dose first, and sildenafil is usually started at 25 mg. Azole antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), antibiotics such as clarithromycin and erythromycin, and HIV medicines such as ritonavir all raise sildenafil levels. It is not intended for women or anyone under 18.

Yes, Sildigra Soft 50 mg is a chewable form with the same dose. Use one form only, never both on the same day.
