Description

Same active ingredient (tretinoin) as Retin-A®, the US brand. Tretinoin 0.025% Cream is an Indian brand, made and licensed in India.

About Tretinoin 0.025% Cream

Tretinoin 0.025% Cream from Healing Pharma is the gentlest strength of this well-established topical retinoid. Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A that speeds up skin cell turnover, unclogs pores and helps prevent new spots. The 0.025% cream is the usual starting point for people new to retinoids, and for anyone with dry or sensitive skin.

What it treats

  • Blackheads, whiteheads and mild to moderate inflammatory acne
  • Dark marks left behind by old spots, which fade gradually over months
  • Rough texture, when used long term

How to apply it

  1. At night, wash with a mild cleanser and pat dry. Wait 20–30 minutes until the skin is completely dry.
  2. Squeeze out a pea-sized amount for the whole face and dot it on the forehead, cheeks and chin before spreading thinly.
  3. Avoid the eyes, the corners of the nose and the lips.
  4. Follow with a plain, fragrance-free moisturizer if your skin feels dry.
  5. Every morning, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.

Start with two or three nights a week and build up to nightly use as your skin adjusts. Our tretinoin guide explains the full timeline, including the early “purging” phase.

Pack sizes

Each tube holds 20 g. Buy packs of 3, 6 or 9 tubes, from $10.

Side effects

Dryness, peeling, redness and stinging are common in the first few weeks and usually settle. Some people see a temporary flare of spots before improvement. Stop and seek advice if you develop blistering, severe swelling or crusting.

Who should not use it

Do not use tretinoin if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless a doctor advises otherwise. Avoid applying it to sunburnt, broken or eczema-affected skin, and do not combine it with harsh scrubs, exfoliating acids or waxing on treated areas.

Choosing a strength

Once your skin tolerates nightly 0.025% well, usually after two to three months, a dermatologist may suggest moving to Tretinoin 0.05% Cream. Oily, resilient skin sometimes uses 0.1%, but higher is not always better.

Storage

Keep the cap tightly closed and store below 77°F (25°C), away from direct heat.
